FEELING FLUSHED

Rosacea is a non-curable skin condition that causes facial redness, small and superficial dilated blood vessels on facial skin, bumps and swelling. It typically begins as redness on the face across the cheeks, nose, or forehead, but can affect the neck, chest, ears, and scalp. It affects 3.6 million Canadians and has no cure but there are ways to alleviate and treat the condition. Some of the common triggers are stress, exercise, hot baths and saunas, hot beverages, menopause.

While it cannot be cured it can be controlled! Thankfully we have some products and services to help, but there are also some lifestyle changes that can help like:

  • Changing your diet.

  • Avoid spicy foods.

  • Ditch alcohol.

  • Avoid harsh skin products.

  • Stay out of extreme weather.

SERVICES

LASER GENESIS

One of the main causes of redness in rosacea is blood vessels that don’t work quite the way they should. The intense energy of Laser Genesis helps to seal off the problematic blood vessels, which in turn lessens the red appearance of your skin.

Another function of laser treatments in patients with rosacea is to stimulate your body’s natural healing processes. Laser Genesis triggers your skin to begin producing new skin cells, collagen, and elastin. The result is healthier, younger-looking skin.

LIMELIGHT

Another great option for Rosacea is our LimeLight treatment, also known as IPL and PhotoFacial. IPL uses controlled light in specific wavelengths to alleviate the inflammation, redness, pimples and uneven skin tones caused by the condition. IPL offers a gentle, long-lasting solution for those suffering from Rosacea by providing a gradual and natural improvement to the skin’s appearance.

LED MASK

The power of LED is sweeping the nation and, while we generally use it as an add-on service, you can book an LED facial on your own. We use the utmost in LED technology, the OPERA LED face mask, which is a world renowned low-level light therapy facial mask that utilizes both Red and Blue lights to chance your skin! So, what's the difference? Well, the blue light is generally used to kill bacteria that causes acne, making it a highly effective treatment for black and white heads. The red setting is used to accelerate healing and stimulate collagen production, shrinking pores and tightening the skin along the way.

Red light therapy is the foundation of light therapy for rosacea treatment. It is often recommended as a starting point. Red light helps to reduce redness, swelling, itching, the dry/tight feeling, the burning feeling, and even the little pimple-like bumps seen in the second rosacea subtype.
